A couple tries to dig a freshly buried corpse for its ear. They believe it would bring wealth. This story is not a horror story, but a real picture of urban society in Indonesia, where poverty seems scarier than the devil itself. The harshness of life makes people lose their conscience, so willing to do anything to be able to meet the needs of their life. The existence of dogs and humans fighting over a corpse describe the lust of a human being that is not much different from the lust of animals. This is a metaphor for the competition of life in the universe. Whoever is strong he wins. Whoever gives up is the one who loses.
